Yoga Reset nervous system tip #4 is called ‘Claiming’.
This is how it works: once you determine what you’re feeling in the current moment (via meditative analysis and ‘Nasal Cycle Testing’), you’ll determine what you want to feel by listing out a few adjectives.
This should be very easy. Do you want silence? Energy? Forgiveness? Courage? Wisdom? List em’ out!
When you have your list, choose just 1 adjective that seems the most resonant and all-encompassing and “presence it”. Aka turn your desire into an ‘I’ statement.
An example:
Say your right nostril is more open than your left, your heart rate is spiked, and your mind is looping on nonsense drama. From this data you determine you are feeling severe frustration. What next?
Well…what do you want?
Maybe it’s peace from all of the worry. Maybe it’s trust that the Universe is a fair and just place. Maybe it’s a knowing that this situation will have a happy ending.
Whatever feels the realest is what you presence and turn into an ‘I’ statement.
“I feel peace.” “I trust the Universe.” “I know all will work out in my favor.”
If you can’t quite presence the feeling — i.e. if you don’t believe what you’re claiming, or if it seems at all dishonest or cheesy — start with something simpler.
For instance, if you want to feel joy, but aren’t authentic in claiming “I feel joy,” simply state “I am open to feeling joy.” If it’s true — if you really are open to feeling joy — it will work after some time.
With practice, you’ll be able to claim a feeling and experience it immediately.
Note: If you’re familiar with affirmations, ‘Claiming’ is similar but with an added confidence. Personally, affirmations feel a bit like wishful thinking — more like crossing your fingers than a solid declaration. If affirmations are more your style, though, go for it.
Note x2: I’m not saying you shouldn’t feel your “negative” emotions. I’m saying it would be wise to aim higher. There is much more I want to say on this topic, so if you want my full thoughts check out my Deeper. Slower. Easier. Level 6 training.

P.S. Some of my favorite claims come from Paul Selig’s 12-book series. A few examples include: “I am word through my body;” “I know who I am;” “I know how I serve;” “I am free;” “I am in the Upper Room;” “I have come;” “God is.” Again, I discuss these in my Deeper. Slower. Easier. | Level 6 tutorial.
P.P.S. This practice is about feeling, not having. While repeating “I am a millionaire” could work, it won’t solve your real problem. And what is your real problem? It’s the lack of feeling secure, free, content, beautiful, worthy, etc. In this case, you assume that having a million dollars is the only means for feeling how you want to feel. In reality, there are many methods and solutions that will get you to the same place.
