Welcome to Lesson #5 of Breathe Deeper [Level 1].

Lessons 4 through 7 focus on the volume of your entire body — not just your torso. And as a quick reminder: volume = length * width * height.

Part the White Sea — this lesson — is all about the width component.

Before I explain this technique, let’s fast forward a few years into your Awakening journey.

At this point you will have:

  • Understood the logic of these lessons.
  • Embodied the practices in the practice section.
  • Released a significant portion of your physical, emotional and psychic tension.
  • Experienced many moments of unconditional love, joy and peace.

What now?

Spoiler alert: you will start experiencing what ancient mystics call “The Light.”

“The light at the end of the tunnel.” “Walk towards the light.”

“The Light” is not a sign of physical death; it is a sign of the death of an illusion.

Bright, compassionate, and all-knowing, “The Light” will soon begin flooding your spinal cord, third eye, and (eventually) whole body.

Congratulations! You are one step closer to discovering your True Identity!

Now, of course, “The Light” doesn’t force its way into your body. It can’t. You must create space for it.

That’s what this particular practice is helping you do.

Like Moses parting the Red Sea, this practice uses your internal attention to create a pathway for “The Light” to enter your body.

There are 2 steps involved:

  1. Imagine a plane bisecting your body — from crown to root. Aka “cut” your body in half.
  2. As you inhale, imagine the left and right sides of your body moving apart from one another. Aka “split” your body in half.

Cut. Split. Cut. Split. Cut. Split. Cut. Split. Cut. Split. Cut. Split.

Do you see what you’re doing? You’re just making room for energy to flow through your spinal cord.

P.S. This technique can be quite subtle. Someone watching your body from the outside might not notice anything at all. That doesn’t matter.

What matters is your experience. Do you feel something separating? Do you feel your body getting wider?
