rule #2: grid lock

Rule #2 of Prāna Fusion is called ‘Grid Lock.’

“Vibrancy”, “health” and “strength” are synonymous with:

(1) Your body being able to hold lots of energy.

(2) Your body being able to move lots of energy.

For example: a strong bicep is one that can flex really, really hard (i.e. hold lots of energy). And a healthy liver is one that can process toxins easily (i.e. move lots of energy). And a vibrant brain is one that can send and receive vast amounts of information (i.e. move and hold lots of energy).

So how do you teach your body to hold and move more energy?

You can imagine each of your body’s cells as an intelligent lightbulb of sorts. Energy comes in → does some fancy chemistry stuff → emits light → produces waste → and then needs to rest and recharge before illuminating again.

But unlike a standard lightbulb, cells’ are wildly intelligent. Their hardware and software literally update in response to recurring stimuli.

Take running, weight-lifting, or Zumba-ing as an example of this. After consistent training — multiple days of flexing and relaxing specific muscles to the point of exhaustion — your muscle cells get the message and reconfigure themselves to handle the higher demand.

Or consider how diet changes your stomach over time. After ingesting processed food over a series of meals, your system will notice the pattern and use its resources to redesign your digestive system to be slightly better at breaking down refined sugars and low-quality oils.

Put differently: your cells are constantly rebuilding and recoding themselves to adapt to their situation.

‘Grid Lock’ takes advantage of this phenomenon.

In class, you’ll get into a yoga pose, and — based on what you’ve ‘metered’ — you will engage certain muscle(s) and areas while inhaling.

When you are in a spinal twist, for example, I will guide you to take a deep breath while flexing specific, subtle muscles that turn your spine.

Over time, your body will get the hint and will reconfigure itself to be able to accommodate these new stimuli.

Note: When you flex, be careful not to squeeze too hard.

Why? Imagine hooking up a standard lightbulb made in the 1923 to a high-wattage generator made one hundred years later in 2023.

Boom!!!

If a piece of equipment is only designed to handle 200 watts of energy, and it gets 900 watts, it’ll blow out. It’s not rocket science.1

This is true of your body’s cells as well.

If any of them receive too much energy before their hardware can accommodate, they’re going to break. Cells can get fried, frayed and fraught with how much energy is being forced through them — like when you decide to go on a long run after not exercising for 6 months, or when you take a whopping dosage of Ayuahasca, or when a guru manually opens your third eye.

The trick, then, is to send just enough prāna into a body part to stimulate it without blowing out the fuse. A fine line to walk, but one that I can help you navigate.

1 This is why I suggest that you only use 10% effort in places that are weak or diseased. Over time those area will be able to accommodate your mounting energy, moving from 25% → 50% → 75% → 100%.
