This part of the tutorial isn’t technically a rule or a hack, but it’s very important. We’re talking about the possible dangers and contraindications of this practice.
There are a few points I want to make, the first of which we’ve already covered:
Only activate 10% on places that are weak or diseased.
If, after practice, you are too sore to function properly the next day, you overdid it.
In fact, according to this class, any kind of bodily soreness — even a tinyyyyy ache — indicates one of two things: either (1) you overdid it, or (2) you didn’t take care of yourself during the recovery process.
Not that overdoing it is bad…pushing yourself far beyond your limits and spending time recovering from it is incredibly effective for discovering your true capabilities and evolving as a human.
But!
Prāna Fusion adheres to a philosophy of subtle, gradual progress. In this practice, it is believed that 365 days of going just 5% beyond your comfort zone is far better than 300 days of going 50% beyond your comfort zone.
The second point is on pain, specifically the difference between joint, muscle and emotional pain.
Of the three, you only ever need to stop when you feel joint pain.
And how do you know whether a sensation is muscle, joint or emotional pain?
Next point: If you are pregnant, please be very cautious practicing.
You probably know this already, but during pregnancy your body produces a lot of relaxin (a hormone that helps your tissue stretch.) This fact makes it much more likely to accidentally stretch your joints — no bueno!
That, and you and your baby likely require different things than what I suggest in Prāna Fusion.
Plus, I have never been pregnant myself, nor am I prenatal yoga certified. Aka I am not currently the right teacher for you 🙂
Final point: eating and drinking properly post-class is of crucial importance.
Your body uses the molecules that you ingest to rebuild itself. Absorbing toxic molecules will create a toxic building, and absorbing healthy molecules will create a healthy building.
Similarly, because your nervous system is electrical, it requires healthy minerals to operate effectively.
A really simple way to address both of these is to drink 32oz of freshly-squeezed, room temperature lemon water right when you wake up. This provides living water & electrolytes, and it flushes your liver from the poisons it accumulated yesterday.
BTW…I personally trust Medical Medium to supply me with the information on what I should and should not consume. I can’t tell you what to believe, but I encourage you to read at least some of the material to see if you resonate.
